John has worked as a clinical veterinary surgeon for over 20 years, during which time he has become increasingly aware of the under recognised environmental impacts of pets. Having realised how little evidence there is to guide decisions in this field, he began study at the Global Sustainability Institute at the University of Exeter. He is now working with academics at the universities of Exeter and Edinburgh to improve understanding of pet food environmental impacts and explore future options to manage these.
